Coffee County Baseball Beats Columbia in Home Opener for Series Sweep

Coffee County Central Red Raiders baseball team claims win number two in their home opener against Columbia Central on Tuesday, 4-2 

Red Raiders got things rolling in the second inning. Brady Nugent grounded out, scoring one run. 

Coffee County evened things up at two in the bottom of the third inning. Lane Spry hit a solo homer. 

Red Raiders pulled away for good with two runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth Griffin Meeker doubled on a 1-2 count, scoring one run and Spry drew a walk, scoring one run. 

Meeker got the win for Coffee County. The righty lasted seven innings, allowing six hits and two runs while striking out 11 and walking one. 

A Hudson took the loss for Columbia Central. The hurler lasted two and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four. 

Drew Sharp started the game for Columbia Central. Sharp lasted three and a third innings, allowing five hits and four runs while striking out one and walking one. 

Red Raiders tallied one home run on the day. Spry had a homer in the third inning. 

Meeker went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Coffee County Central Red Raiders Varsity in hits. Caden Czajka led Columbia Central with two hits in three at bats.
