An early lead helped Coffee County Red Raiders defeat Loretto 4-1 on Friday. Coffee County scored on a walk by Nolan Jernigan in the first inning, a single by Wyatt Nugent in the first inning, and a single by Aiden Robertson in the second inning.
Griffin Meeker earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Coffee County. The pitcher went seven innings, allowing one run on four hits, striking out seven and walking zero.
Conner Clemons took the loss for Loretto. The bulldog surrendered four runs on three hits over four innings, striking out three.
Robertson , Meeker, Braden Brown, and Nugent each collected one hit to lead the Red Raiders.
Loretto collected four hits on the day. Caleb Davis and Clemons all collected multiple hits for Loretto. Loretto was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Clint Seymore made the most plays with six.
