Coffee County baseball falls to Lawrence County in the District Tournament

Lawrence County Wildcats stole the lead late in the game in a 7-5 victory over Coffee County Red Raiders on Friday. The game was tied at five with Lawrence County batting in the bottom of the sixth when Samuel Bradley doubled on a 2-1 count, scoring one run. 

Coffee County Red Raiders scored three runs in the sixth inning, but Lawrence County still managed to pull out the victory. Robertson, Brady Nugent, and Griffin Meeker each had RBIs in the big inning. 

Coffee County Red Raiders fired up the offense in the first inning. Coffee County scored one run when Hayden Hullett singled. 

Lawrence County notched four runs in the fourth inning. Lawrence County scored its runs on a by Grant James. 

Luke Boswell got the start for Lawrence County. The bulldog surrendered five runs on seven hits over five and two-thirds innings, striking out six and walking zero. 

Jacob Holder was on the mound for Coffee County. The bulldog surrendered five runs on eight hits over four innings, striking out four. Wyatt Nugent and Robertson entered the game as relief, throwing one and one-third innings and two-thirds of an inning respectively. 

Lawrence County collected ten hits. Camden Bosheers and Colton Moore each racked up multiple hits for Lawrence County. Bosheers went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Lawrence County in hits. 

Robertson led Coffee County with two hits in three at bats.
