Coffee County baseball rolls past Tullahoma in District 8-AAA Tournament play

Griffin Meeker threw a shutout to lead Coffee County Red Raiders past Tullahoma Wildcats 4-0 on Monday. 

A single by Jaxon Sheffield in the first inning was a positive for Tullahoma. 

Meeker got the win for Coffee County. The pitcher surrendered zero runs on four hits over seven innings, striking out five. 

Trenton Sholey took the loss for Tullahoma. The pitcher lasted six and two-thirds innings, allowing nine hits and four runs while striking out ten. 

Coffee County Red Raiders saw the ball well today, racking up nine hits in the game. Nolan Jernigan, Aiden Robertson, and Jacob Holder each collected multiple hits for Coffee County. Jernigan went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Coffee County in hits. Coffee County Red Raiders was sure handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lane Spry had the most chances in the field with six. 

Tullahoma Wildcats had four hits in the game. Colton Emory and Sheffield all managed multiple hits for Tullahoma. Tullahoma Wildcats didn’t commit a single error in the field. Jayron Morris had the most chances in the field with 12. 

Jacob Holder earned Crazy Daises Player of the Game. 

Tullahoma Wildcats end their season 25-12 overall and 9-4 in District.
