Coffee County is now on the Tennessee Advanced Communications Network

The Tennessee Advanced Communications Network (TACN) is a statewide radio system that provides communication connectivity infrastructure for local, state, and federal first responders. With TACN, first responders, including law enforcement, fire, EMS, and healthcare providers, have reliable communications capabilities for daily operations and the ability to talk to each other to coordinate at the local, regional, and statewide levels to respond in the event of an emergency or disaster.

At a Monday press conference, the Coffee County Sheriff’s Office demonstrated how the system operates. A radio check was made from Manchester to Memphis, Franklin, and Knoxville.

All emergency responders in Coffee County are now on the system, except for Tullahoma. They have approved the move and will be joining at a later date.
