Saturday night, in the boys’ District 6 Class 4A consolation game, the Coffee County Red Raiders hosted the Shelbyville Golden Eagles.
The Red Raiders looked sharp as they held a 13-point lead after the first quarter, 20-7. they led the Eagles by as many as 16 and ended the first half leading 30-19.
In the second half, the Eagles make a run against Coffee County and only trailed 41-39 at the end of the third quarter. Dayne Crosslin got hot in the second half that helped propel the Red Raiders over the Eagles 60-52. Crosslin finished the night with 19 points and was rewarded for his efforts by being named to the All-Tournament team. Cooper Reed, who had 12 points in the game, was also named All-Tournament.
Kyler Trice led Shelbyville Golden Eagles in scoring and earned All-Tournament. Joe Harris was also a double-figure scorer on Saturday for Shelbyville.
Three Red Raiders were named to the All-District team: Deion Subaran, who hit for 14 on Saturday, along with Jackson Shemwell and Reed.
Coffee County will now wait for the District 5 Tournament to conclude to find out which team they will face on Saturday night on the road in the quarterfinals of the region tournament. They will face the #2 seed, and Shelbyville will face the #1 seed.
Warren County boys defeated Franklin County in overtime to win the District Championship.
