The Tennessee Department of Health has confirmed additional cases of COVID-19 across the state on Friday, May 1.
The state’s total cases jumped to 11,891 after an additional 1,156 new cases were added, marking the highest single-day increase for Tennessee.
Early Friday afternoon, Tennessee Department of Correction confirmed more than 1,246 COVID-19 positive cases, out of 2,450 total tests, among staff and inmates at the Trousdale Turner Correctional Center in Trousdale County.
The state health department also reported five additional deaths to bring the total up to 204.
Out of the confirmed positive cases, 5,546 have recovered, which calculates to 6,141.

*Coffee County: 0 died: 36 confirmed cases; 16 recovered; 1,077 negative tests
*Franklin County: 1 died; 36 confirmed; 26 recovered; 1,113 negative tests
*Grundy County: 1 died; 28 confirmed; 22 recovered; 309 negative tests
*Lincoln County: 0 died; 14 confirmed; 8 recovered; 545 negative tests
*Moore County: 0 died; 3 confirmed; 1 recovered; 155 negative tests
*Rutherford County: 11 died; 502 confirmed; 207 recovered; 4,695 negative tests
*Warren County: 0 died; 8 confirmed; 4 recovered; 724 negative tests
