Decision time near for TSSAA, fall sports.

The TSSAA has added the discussion of contingency plans for football and girls soccer to its meeting agenda for Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at Siegel High School’s lecture hall in Murfreesboro.

The Board of Control also will discuss regulations put together by the staff and Gov. Bill Lee’s office for all fall sports in regards to precautions for participation during the coronavirus pandemic.

The meeting originally was planned to discuss reclassification, which is still on the agenda.

The TSSAA has been working with the governor’s office in hopes of being able to start the football and girls soccer seasons on time.

“After our meeting with the governor’s office, and them still researching the data, looking at everything they have to look at, and with the numbers being so fluid right now, we felt we would get no decision (from the governor’s office) this week,” Childress said. “With practice starting Monday, we felt we needed to have a specific direction we need to go in, in case we don’t get the decision from them anytime soon.”

On Target News will post the results of any announcement if and when it is made today.
