Elk River Public Utility District provides Rebates of $750,000 to Over 16,000 Customers

The Elk River Public Utility District (ERPUD) Board of Commissioners met on Monday, May 24, 2021

District Revenue for FY 2021 is projected to exceed budget estimates due to Increased Natural Gas Sales and an Increase in Residential and Commercial Activity throughout the District’s service area.

As a result, the Board voted to provide Rebates of approximately $750,000 to over 16,500 of the District’s active customers and no increase in base rates for FY 2022. 

The Rebate will be applied to the June 2021 monthly natural gas bill and will apply to All Active Customers.     

All Active Class 20 Residential Heating Only Customers will receive a Rebate of $42

All Active Class 22 Residential Year-Round Customers will receive a Rebate of $32.25

All Active Class 40 Small Commercial Customers will receive a Rebate of $51

All Active Class 60 Large Commercial Customers will receive a Rebate of $180

All Active Class 65 Industrial Processing Customers will receive a Rebate of $750

All Active Class 75 Interruptible Customers will receive a Rebate of $750

Total Annual Volumes for the District over the last few years are as follows:   

FY 2018 annual volume of 2,861,183 dekatherms

FY 2019 annual volume of 2,896,485 dekatherms

FY 2020 annual volume of 2,653,663 dekatherms

FY 2021 Projected annual volume of 2,936,000 dekatherms

Previous District Rebates include: 

FY 2018 Approximately $500,000

FY 2019 Approximately $975,000

FY 2020 Approximately $750,000

FY 2021 Approximately $750,000
