Former Coffee County Baseball Coach Hired at Shelbyville

Chase Jones the former head baseball coach at Coffee and Grundy counties has been hired at Shelbyville Central as the new Golden Eagle leader. Chase Jones was named the head coach at Shelbyville Central this week.

Jones had a successful run at Coffee County from 2002-2012, winning 225 games during that time. Jones’ teams went on to win six district championships: 2003, 2004, 2007, 2009, 2010 and 2011. In 2010, the Raiders went to their first state tournament berth under Jones. The coach also led Grundy County to a state tournament berth after his run in Manchester.

Shelbyville and Coffee County will continue to be district rivals as the two teams will compete in the new Class-AAAA playing in the same district as Warren and Franklin counties in 2022.
