Former Major Leaguer and Atlanta Brave Dale Murphy coming to Manchester for Fundraiser

Former Atlanta Brave Dale Murphy is coming to Manchester on February 25th at the Coffee County Fairgrounds. This is a fundraiser for the Coffee County High School Baseball program. Tickets are $50 per ticket, which includes dinner, a photo op, and a speech by Murphy. Autographs will be available as well. Several items will be availiable on raffles and silent auction items. Tickets are available now at 1st Bank in Manchester.

Murphy finished his career with 398 home runs, a .265 batting average, 1,266 RBI, and scored 1,197 runs. His Major League career began in 1976 with the Braves. He was with Atlanta through 1989. In 1990 he spent time with the Braves, Blue Jays, and Phillies. In 1991 and 1992, he played with the Phillies and finished his career with Colorado in 1993.

Lucky has done play-by-play for 3,993 (and counting) sports events on Radio & TV. He also served four years as the Public Information Officer for the Coffee Co. Sheriff's Dept. and taught Radio/TV for six years at Grundy County High School.
