Former Coffee County football star Alontae Taylor was selected for a team award as the Volunteers make preparations for the 2020 season. Taylor, had 73 tackles over the last two seasons, including 2.0 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, five passes defended and an interception.
In the announcement, Leadership awards went to junior defensive back Alontae Taylor and senior wide receiver Josh Palmer. The Tank Award went to junior offensive lineman Jerome Carvin and the Bomber Award went to sophomore running back Eric Gray. The Jet Award went to sophomore defensive back Jaylen McCollough and the Freshman Award went to rookie defensive back Keshawn Lawrence.
