Former Roswell New Mexico Student Arrested in Manchester gets Probation for Attempting to Hire Hitman

A former Roswell New Mexico High School student who attempted to hire someone over the internet to murder two teenage girls was sentenced to five years supervised probation Wednesday as part of a plea agreement.

The sentence against Colton Beall, 18, will be deferred pending successful completion of his five-year probationary period in exchange for changing his initial plea of not guilty to no contest on two counts of criminal solicitation of first-degree murder.

As part of the agreement, Beall must complete counseling, drug and alcohol screening and perform 200 hours of community service unless he has full-time employment or is enrolled in a full-time educational program.

Beall was arrested in Manchester, Tennessee on Feb. 27 and extradited back to Roswell after a grand jury handed down an indictment alleging that in December 2019, while a student at Roswell High, Beall tried to hire someone over the internet to strangle to death two 16-year-old females to death with a belt in order to fulfill a fantasy.
