On Tuesday night, in the boys’ semifinal of the District 6 Class 4-A tournament Coffee County hosted Franklin County.
The Rebels hit five 3-pointers in the first quarter to gain a ten-point lead, 18-8. The Raiders fought back to get within four, 22-18, at halftime.
In the third quarter, things were looking up for Coffee County as the Raiders grabbed the lead about halfway through the quarter. At that point, Coffee County had trouble hitting shots and remained down by four, 33-29, at the end of the third.
In the fourth, the shooting woes continued, and Franklin County was able to pull away for the 47-33 win.
Ke’Andre Johnson and Kai Baker led the Rebels with 11 points each, and Kaleb Rigsby added 10.
Cooper Reed led the Raiders with 13 points, followed by Dayne Crosslin with 8, Jahlin Osborne added 6, Jayden Carter scored 4, and Deion Subaran ended the game with 2 points.
Franklin County will play Warren County, who defeated Shelbyville on Tuesday for the district championship in Manchester on Saturday at 7:30 pm.
