Grundy Co. Votes Yes for Second Amendment Sanctuary-Proposal on hold in Coffee Co.

Commission members in Grundy County have voted to have their county be an official “Second Amendment Sanctuary County.”
The resolution says the county cannot enforce laws that “infringe upon the right by the people to keep and bear arms.”
Coffee County officials tabled the issue in a committee meeting on Monday night. Leaders of a group supporting “Second Amendment Sanctuary” in Coffee County are wanting the full commission to vote in favor of the resolution at the next county commission meeting on March 10, 2020.
The legality of the resolution isn’t clear according to some attorneys and county leaders because they presume state and federal laws would supersede any county resolution.
About one-third of counties in Tennessee have voted in favor of the resolution.
