Holder’s No-Hitter Lifts Raiders Past Warren County

Jacob Holder was outstanding on the mound for Coffee County on Tuesday night. The senior righthander threw a no-hitter at Powers Field in Manchester and struck out 10 Warren County batters.

The Pioneers grabbed the lead in the top of the first after a walk, a two-base error, fly out, and another walk, and Jax King was hit by a pitch.

The Red Raiders tied the game in the bottom of the first after Aiden Robertson walked, Cole Pippenger singled, and Nate Rutledge singled home Robertson. Dayne Crosslin and Bird Fellers scored in the second on a 2-run single by Holder.

In the third, Robertson singled home Colter Neel to give Coffee County a 4-1 advantage.

Brendon Sheppard singled home Rutledge to give Coffee County a 5-1 lead. Sheppard stayed hot in the sixth as he singled in Davis McKenzie to give the Raiders their final run to make the final 6-1.

Coffee County racked up nine hits on the day. Fellers and Sheppard had two each to help the Raiders remain undefeated at 7-0 and 4-0 in district play.

Coffee County will compete in tournament action beginning Thursday as they take on the Waubonsie Valley Warriors from Aurora, Illinois, at 5 PM, followed by Crawfordsville, Indiana at 7 PM.
