Tullahoma basketball opened the home schedule with a split vs Warren County Monday night.
In the girls game the Lady Pioneers physical, tight defense stymied the Lady Cats offenisve attack most of the night and a late push wasn’t enough to pull off the comeback as they fell 47-38.
Mclaine Bobo paced the Lady Cats with 14 points. Shelby Smart also had 14 to lead the four Warren County scorers who all finished in double figures.
The loss drops the Lady Cats to 3-6 on the season.
In the nightcap the Wildcats saw the 13 lead they had entering the fourth quarter evaporate as Devin Fish put the pioneers on his back scoring all 17 of his game high points in the second half. However, Malik Grizzard’s baseline runner was good at the horn and the Wildcats escaped with a 54-52 win.
Deandre Jenkins led Tullahoma with 13 points.
The victory improves the Wildcats to 2-6 on the season.
