Lady Cats Cruise, Wildcats Clipped in District Opener

Tullahoma opened District 8-3A play Tuesday night splitting a pair of games with Spring Hill.

In the girls contest the Lady Cats scored the games first 10 points and never looked back cruising to a 50-22 victory.

NyJah Gibbs and Eleanor Fults each scored 14 to lead Tullahoma offensively. Spring Hill was paced by Belle Brashear with 12.

The win, their 7th straight, improves the Lady Cats to 10-7 on the season and 1-0 in district play. The Lady Raiders fall to 4-8 and 0-1 in 8-3A.

In the night cap the Wildcat offense sputtered down the stretch of a back and forth game allowing the visiting Raiders to squeak out a 60-56 win.

DeAndre Jenkins led the way for Tullahoma with 12 points while Xavier Ferrell added 11. Kai’Seanne Brashear paced Spring Hill with 17 and Quintavius Simmons also finished in double figures with 15.

The loss drops the Wildcats to 5-12 overall and 0-1 in the district. The Raiders improve to 6-4 on the season and 1-0 in 8-3A.

Tullahoma visits Marshall County Friday while Spring Hill host Page. Both doubleheaders begin with the girl’s game at 6:00.

Our next broadcast on 93.9 The Duck is Tuesday at 5:45 when Tullahoma host Lawrence County.

Will Rabb

Will is a Middle Tennessee native having been born and raised in Winchester. His love of radio began as a child listening to local stations on the way to school or while falling asleep at night. After High School, where he was active in student media, he attended the University of Tennessee majoring in Journalism and Electronic Media while covering sports for the campus radio station. He then moved into the business professionally as a board op/producer for Cumulus of Knoxville and the Vol Network. His radio journey then took him to Louisiana where he was the lead producer for ESPN New Orleans. After returning home to Winchester, he spent several years broadcasting local sports for stations in Franklin County before joining the Bowman Family. When he’s not at the station, Will enjoys spending time with his wife Shaina and his two fur babies (Toulouse and Belle), cheering on the Vols, Preds and Saints and in the kitchen or behind the grill trying out new recipes.
