Lady Cats Finish Runner Up in 8-3A

Lincoln County held off a late Tullahoma rally to claim the district 8-3A championship 50-44 Monday Night at Ralph Benson Memorial Gymnasium at Lawrence County High School in Lawrenceburg.

The Lady Falcons took the early advantage behind Abby Bryan who scored her team’s first 7 points helping give Lincoln County an 11-5 lead after one. Tullahoma battled back outscoring the Lady Falcons 17-8 in the second quarter to lead 22-19 at halftime. In a game of runs however Lincoln County used a 13-3 third quarter to take a lead they’d never surrender. Despite the Lady Cats winning the fourth quarter 19-18 the third quarter margin gave the Lady Falcons the cushion needed to hang on for the second straight 8-3A tournament title to back up their regular season crown.

McLayne Bobo (Tullahoma) and Abby Bryan (Lincoln County) led their teams with 18 points each. The loss drops Tullahoma to 17-11 overall while Lincoln County improves to 24-4.  Both teams will host region quarterfinal games Friday at 7:00, opponents to be determined.  As always you can hear the Tullahoma game on 93.9 The Duck with pregame coverage starting at 6:45.
