Lady Raiders and Red Raiders Win Big on Monday Night

Coffee County picked up an 8-1 district win over the Franklin County Rebels in baseball action on Monday in Manchester.

The Red Raiders got things moving in the first inning when Caleb Moran hit a solo homer and added another run on a Jacob Holder sacrifice fly.

Coffee County scored four runs in the fifth inning. Carter McKenzie, Nate Rutledge, and Brendon Sheppard all drove in runs.

The Red Raiders added more insurance in the sixth. McKenzie and Holder driving in runs.

Aiden Robertson earned the victory on the mound for Coffee County. The right-hander surrendered only one run on two hits over seven innings, striking out 11.

Casen Gilliam took the loss for Franklin County. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight runs on seven hits and striking out three.

McKenzie went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Coffee County Central Red Raiders in hits.

Franklin County will host Coffee County in Winchester on Tuesday at 6 PM.


In Sparta, on Monday night, the Coffee County Lady Raiders defeated the White County Warriorettes 15-0 in four innings.

Willow Carden had a big night for Coffee County. Carden went 3-for-3 at the plate with two singles and a home run. She knocked in 5 runs and scored three runs.

The Lady Raiders also got a 3-run homer from Paisley Campbell, and Channah Gannon added a 2-run blast.

Kaitlyn Davis and Katelyn Anderson pitched two innings each and allowed only two hits combined in the game.

Chesnie Cox was the other Lady Raider with multiple hits as she was 2-for-2 and scored twice.

Coffee County travels to Warren County on Tuesday for district softball beginning at 7 PM, and you can hear the game on The Rooster 101.5, www.rooster1015.com, or the Rooster 101.5 app.
