After defeating Shelbyville earlier this season 13-0, the Coffee County Lady Raiders softball team had its troubles on Tuesday night at home.
The Eaglettes held a 3-0 lead after 2 ½ innings. The Lady Raiders battled back to cut the advantage to 3-2 in the bottom of the third. That scored held up until the bottom of the 6th when Coffee County tied the game. In 8th inning Shelbyville managed to score a run for a 4-3 lead. In the bottom half the Lady Raiders Chesnie Cox singled in Madison Pruitt to tie the game at 4. With the game tied it was off to the 9th inning. Davis doubled and her courtesy runner Kerry Neel scored the winning run after an error on the Shelbyville 1st baseman on a groundball by Pruitt.
Kaitlyn Davis came in to relieve Haiden Campbell in the 4th inning and pitched 6 strong, allowing just 3 hits, 1 unearned run, and striking out 5.
Coffee County at 19-2-1 overall will host the Nashville Knights on Wednesday night at 6:30pm and you can hear the game on The Rooster 101.5 FM.
