Coffee County’s Lady Raiders traveled to just outside of Knoxville to take on Gibbs High School in softball action on Thursday.
The Lady Raiders continued their hot hitting as they pounded out 12 hits that led Coffee County to an 8-1 win over the Lady Eagles.
RF Chesnie Cox had a big day at the plate with 3 hits and 3 RBI. 3B Kiya Ferrell added 2 hits, 2 runs scored and knocked in 1. CF Olivia Evans was 3 for 3 scoring a run and an RBI.
Senior Keri Munn has been outstanding in the pitching circle as she went all 7 innings allowing just 4 hits and 1 run. Munn hit double-digits again in strikeouts with 10 on the evening.
Coffee County at 14-0 on the season will compete in the Gibbs Tournament Friday and Saturday. They play in pool against Grace Christian Academy and East Hamilton on Friday night before taking on William Blount on Saturday morning. Tournament play will take place on Saturday afternoon. The Lady Raiders return home on Monday to host Warren County at 7pm and you can the game on The Rooster 101.5 FM.
