On Thursday the Lady Vols upset the number 2 ranked Gamecocks of South Carolina in an SEC matchup at home 75-67.
The Lady Vols battled hard against the Gamecocks ending the first quarter of play tied at 16. The Gamecocks outscored the Lady Vols on the second quarter 21-9. At halftime the Lady Vols went into the locker room trailing the Gamecocks 37-25. Tennessee came alive in the third quarter by outscoring South Carolina 28-17. The Lady Vols held the lead in the fourth quarter over the Gamecocks 22-13. The Lady Vols finished the contest and upset the number 2 Ranked Gamecocks 75-67. Jordan Horston scored 12 points on the night. Rae Burrell notched 19 points. Rennia Davis led the way for the Lady Vols posting 24 points to take home the W for Tennessee. The Lady Vols will hit the road to take on the Bulldogs of the University of Georgia on Sunday. Tip-off is set for 11 AM and pregame coverage to begin at 10:30 AM.
