During Wednesday’s press briefing, Tennessee Department of Health Commissioner Dr. Lisa Piercey reported a new cluster of positive COVID-19 cases. The cluster has occurred at the Tyson poultry plant in Shelbyville.
On April 14 Bedford County had 25 cases, but yesterday that number had jumped up to 117 positive cases, a 214% rise.
The employee’s union is asking for a temporary shutdown of the plant where 79 workers have tested positive.
