Local Nurse Dies while helping with Medical Care in New York City

Denny Gilliam, a traveling nurse from the Grundy County town of Pelham had been caring for COVID-19 patients in New York City when he suddenly died. At  this time no one knows for sure why he passed.

Gilliam served in the National Guard and the Air Force, before becoming a nurse in 1996. 

Family members have been told that it could be as long as six months to determine the exact cause of death. Gilliam was 53.
