42 year-old Richard Lightburn was arrested by Coffee County authorities on Tuesday morning. The man is facing two counts of felony evading arrest, evading arrest on foot, two thefts of motor vehicles, felon in possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon during a dangerous felony, two counts of driving on revoked and reckless driving.
The first of two pursuits took place when a vehicle was allegedly stolen early Monday morning (Feb. 7) from Love’s Truck Stop at Exit 117. A pursuit by the Coffee County Sheriff’s Department ended when the suspect walked away on foot after leaving the stolen pick-up in the Joint Industrial Park.
On Tuesday morning law enforcement received information of another pick-up being stolen, this time from the Joint Industrial Park.
After the vehicle was spotted in Manchester, police began a pursuit that went onto the Old Tullahoma Highway. The vehicle left the roadway near the Fraternal Order of Police building while attempting to avoid spike strips. At this time Lightburn was brought into custody.
