On February 28, 2023, Warren County deputies responded to a burglary in progress at a residence on Northcutt’s Cove Road. Upon arrival, deputies discovered that entry had been made into the home by shattering the glass on an entry door, and the home was found to be in disarray. According to a witness, the suspects had left the scene in two separate vehicles just prior to the deputies’ arrival. He gave the deputies a description of the vehicles, at which time the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office was advised of the situation and asked to be on the lookout for these vehicles. Deputies Vincent Cooley and Jackson Franks learned from the Grundy County officers that they had encountered the vehicles in question at a residence there.
After a thorough investigation conducted by Warren County Investigators Spencer Pryor and Gary Kemper, a search was issued for a residence in Grundy County, where property belonging to the victim of this investigation was located. Probable cause was found that Lisa Annette Benton and Delbert Dewayne Dodson were responsible for the burglary and the theft of property, and arrest warrants were issued for each of them. Benton has been arrested and remains in custody at the Warren County Jail. Officers are currently searching for Dodson.
