Manchester 1 of 8 to receive Fit and Strong Program Funding

The Manchester Recreation Department is one of only eight parks departments nationwide to receive funding for the Fit and Strong Program.
The Fit and Strong program is funded through the National Recreation and Park Association. It is designed for persons with lower extremity pain and stiffness. The grant provides the funds for training instructors and necessary equipment and materials for the classes. The class format will include 24 classes that are 90 minutes long. Each class consists of 60 minutes of physical activity and 30 minutes of group health education. The program will be completely free to participants and the anticipated start date will be March 9, 2020. More information will be available to register for the free classes once instructor training is complete.
