Manchester Leaders Vote for Roxanne Patton to fill Alderman Seat and Approve taking on Financial Responsibility of Conference Center

The City of Manchester Board of Mayor and Aldermen (BOMA) voted to take on all financial responsibility of the operating losses of the Manchester-Coffee County Conference Center. Currently the losses are split 50/50 between the county and the city. The agreement will be ending soon, and county leaders have voiced their concerns with many saying they no longer want to be part of a new arrangement, but they will still have to approve the agreement.

The center is owned by the Public Build Authority. The authority is appointed by the county mayor, how or if that will change is not known at this time.

12 citizens applied for the open Manchester alderman seat: David Bradley, Eric Burch, Joe Pat Cope, Tammie Fuller, Terrence Hillsman, Joey Hobbs, Holly Jones, Eli Kidder, Elva Yvonne McCoin, Morgan Moser, Roxanne Patton and Daniel Stillings. The BOMA approved former alderman Roxanne Patton to fill the open seat that was left open after alderman Marilyn Howard was selected to become mayor after the death of Mayor Lonnie Norman.
