Manchester man Shot by Homeowner after Allegedly Burglarizing home in Normandy

Bedford County Sheriff’s Office said a shooting took place around 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. The suspect was shot while allegedly burglarizing a home in Normandy.

The Shelbyville Times-Gazette reports the suspect has been identified as Anthony Baker, 30, of Manchester.

“A homeowner confronted the suspect while he was taking solar panels. The suspect said, ‘Go on and shoot me! Shoot me!’ while continuing to take the panels.

“The suspect backed the armed homeowner all the way to his front door. The homeowner shot him in the leg.”

Charges to be filed against Baker include assault, aggravated burglary, burglary, felony vandalism and theft of property.
