Moore County baseball falls to Fayetteville

Moore County Blue Raiders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 2-0 loss to the Fayetteville Tigers on Tuesday. Fayetteville took the lead on a groundout in the second inning. 

The pitching was strong on both sides. Fayetteville pitchers struck out ten, while Moore County sat down eight. 

Fayetteville Tigers opened up scoring in the second inning. Davis grounded out, scoring one run. 

A single by Donnie Pearson in the second inning was a positive for Moore County. 

Davis got the win for Fayetteville. The ace allowed four hits and zero runs over two and two-thirds innings, striking out seven and walking one. 

Jacob Baker took the loss for Moore County. The righty went six innings, allowing two runs on two hits and striking out eight. 

Jacob Thomas started the game for Fayetteville. Thomas surrendered zero runs on four hits over four and a third innings, striking out three and walking one.

Moore County Blue Raiders tallied eight hits on the day. Pearson, Kaden White, and Kyler Parker all collected multiple hits for Moore County. Parker, White, and Pearson each managed two hits to lead Moore County.
