Moore County Blue Raiders took Monday’s game in dramatic fashion, with a 9-8 walk-off victory over Fayetteville Tigers. The game was tied at eight with Moore County batting in the bottom of the eighth when Keller Morey drew a walk, scoring one run.
Despite falling down by five runs in the second inning, Fayetteville tried to fight back. The Tigers scored five runs in the failed comeback on a home run by Josh Thomas in the third, a single by Sam Holdmeyer in the fifth, and a single by Cam Shelidon in the sixth.
Moore County captured the lead in the second inning. Kyler Parker drew a walk, scoring one run.
In the top of the sixth inning, Fayetteville tied things up at eight when Shelidon singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
Moore County notched seven runs in the second inning. The offensive onslaught by the Blue Raiders was led by Donnie Pearson, Parker, Gage Burt, and Kaden White, who each had RBIs in the inning.
Fayetteville scored three runs in the third inning. The Tigers scored its runs on a home run by Thomas.
Morey pitched the Blue Raiders to victory. Morey lasted three innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out four.
Andy Locker took the loss for Fayetteville. Locker lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and one run while striking out two.
Thomas started the game for Fayetteville. The bulldog lasted two innings, allowing three hits and seven runs while striking out three Ryder Morey started the game for Moore County. The righthander allowed five hits and seven runs over five innings, striking out eight
Fayetteville launched two home runs on the day. Locker went for the long ball in the first inning. Thomas went deep in the third inning.
