Last week the Moore County Blue Raiders boys squad swept the Region 4-A Basketball Tournament to advance to the Class A Sectional.
On Thursday the Blue Raiders defeated the Champions of Cascade 53-48 in the Championship round of the Region 4-A Basketball Tournament. The Blue Raiders started out strong with the lead over the Champions 13-5 at the end of the first quarter of play. Moore County held the lead in the second quarter leading Cascade 32-23 to go into the locker room on top. The Champions bounced back to cut the deficit, but the Blue Raiders continued to dominate and remain in the lead at the end of the third quarter 40-38. Moore County played aggressive in the fourth quarter to secure the W and advance to the Class A Sectional on Monday to face off against the Bobcats of Pickett County at 7pm. On Tuesday the Blue Raiders defeated the Eagles of Eagleville 40-30 in the Region 4-A Semifinal round and beating Lead Academy on Saturday in the first round of the Region Tournament 66-63.
