Last week the Moore County Lady Blue Raiders girls team fought their way through in the District 8-A Tournament.
The Lady Blue Raiders won in the consolation round of the District 8-A Tournament on Wednesday against the Lady Tigers of Fayetteville 64-54. In the first quarter of play the Lady Blue Raiders led the Lady Tigers 13-9. Moore County kept pace to remain in the lead over Fayetteville going into the locker room at the half on top 35-21. Out of halftime the Lady Tigers gained momentum but could not hold on as the Lady Blue Raiders ended the third quarter on top 47-41. The Lady Blue Raiders continued to dominate the court to end the game on top in the consolation round of the District 8-A tournament.
On Tuesday the Moore County Lady Blue Raiders unfortunately fell to the Lady Eagles of Eagleville in the semifinal round of the District 8-A Tournament. In the first quarter of play the Lady Blue Raiders battled hard but the Lady Eagles snagged the lead 9-4. Moore County stayed tough and gained momentum, but Eagleville remained in the lead going into the locker room at the half 20-11. Out of halftime the Lady Blue Raiders came out strong to cut the deficit by single digits, but the Lady Eagles held onto the lead 26-19 to end the third quarter on top. Moore County continued to play Aggressive, but Eagleville remained in the lead to end the District 8-A semifinal round on top.
On Monday the Moore County Lady Blue Raiders won in an impressive style over the Lady Bulldogs of Cornersville 44-31 in the first round of the District 8-A Tournament. The Lady Blue Raiders grabbed the lead in the first quarter of play over the Lady Bulldogs 14-10. Moore County kept pace and outscored Cornersville to end the second quarter and head into the locker room on top 20-15. Out of halftime the Lady Blue Raiders extended their lead over the Lady Bulldogs to end the third quarter 30-23. Moore County played hard for 8 more minutes of play to take home the W against Cornersville in the first round of the District 8-A Tournament
