Moore County High School Killed in Saturday Morning Crash

A 17 year-old Moore County High School student was killed in a one-vehicle crash on Saturday morning.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports that a Kia Soul driven by 20-year-old Kaden White was driving west on State Route 55 near the high school when it left the roadway, going into a ditch and hitting a culvert around 4 am.

The THP says the impact caused the Kia to flip over and hit a tree before resting off the left side of the roadway.

The only passenger, 17-year-old Isaiah Petty, a senior at the high school, died due to the injuries he received.

White was injured in the crash, and the THP says he has charges pending.

Petty played football and baseball and was on the wrestling team.
