Moore County softball falls to Huntland

Monday was a long day for Moore County Lady Blue Raiders, falling to Huntland 16-3. 

Huntland opened up scoring in the first inning, when Mattie Danley doubled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run. 

Moore County Lady Blue Raiders knotted the game up at one in the bottom of the first inning. Madelynn McLaughlin drove in one when McLaughlin singled. 

Huntland pulled away for good with one run in the third inning. In the third Ryley Brannon singled on a 3-1 count, scoring one run. 

Huntland scored 11 runs in the fourth inning. Huntland offense in the inning was led by Ashtyn Danley, Danley, Brannon, Jocy May, Shaleigh Garner, and Danley, who each had RBIs in the inning. 

Danley was in the circle for Huntland. The bulldog allowed three hits and one run over three innings, striking out five. 

Paisley Logan led things off on the rubber for Moore County. The pitcher lasted three and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and 12 runs while striking out one. Abby Neal threw one and one-third innings out of the bullpen. 

Moore County Lady Blue Raiders launched one home run on the day. Chloe Brazier had a dinger in the fourth inning. 

Brazier led Moore County with two hits in two at bats. 

Huntland tallied 13 hits in the game. Brannon, Danley, Garner, and Danley all collected multiple hits for Huntland. Brannon went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Huntland in hits. Huntland was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Danley made the most plays with eight.
