In the ‘Battle of the Blue’ the Huntland Hornets hosted the 6th ranked Moore County Raiders on Friday night.
In another outstanding game in this series, the Hornets got things going first on a 33 yard run to make it 7-0 with 4:49 left in the first quarter.
In the 2nd, Moore County’s Hayden Carter blocked a Huntland punt to put Raiders in scoring position. Kyler Parker passes to Dawson White for a 15 yard TD pass to tie the game 7-7 after the PAT. The Raiders would strike again before halftime as Parker found White again for the touchdown. The Hornets scored with just :31 seconds left to tie the game at 14.
In the 3rd Moore County got on the board for their third touchdown when Tyler Smith rushes in for a score to make it 21-14 Raiders. Huntland would not go away as Kolbi Steward scores from 5 yards out and game is tied again, 21-21. Moore County would score again in the 3rd when Joshua Parks made a great catch and runs it into the end zone to give the Raiders the lead at 28-21.
In the 4th Raider kicker Chase Bradford kicked a short field-goal to give Moore County the win, 31-21.
On Friday (Oct. 23) Moore County (7-1) will host Richland (3-4). Airtime 6:45 p.m. on Raider Country (Whiskey Country) 105.1 and 95.9.
