NASCAR Cup Series drivers Kevin Harvick and Denny Hamlin finished first and second in the two NASCAR Monster Energy Cup races at Pocono over the weekend. Harvick took the win and Hamlin was second on Saturday, while the finishes were reversed on Sunday, with Hamlin taking the lead late in the Pocono 500 and finishing first as Harvick was gaining ground in the closing laps.
It looked like it was going to be Kurt Busch’s day on Sunday as the former champion led all laps through the first stage of the race, but eventually gave way as the second stage began and Busch finished tenth. Harvick holds a 52-point lead in the standings over Ryan Blaney. NASCAR will run on Sunday next week at the Brickyard in Indianapolis Motor Speedway following an IndyCar race on Saturday.
