According to arrest warrants, on Sunday (October 20, 2019) Coffee County Sheriff’s Department Corporal Blake Simmons stopped a vehicle that had a license tag that came back as stolen.
37 year-old Daven Turner from Nashville was a passenger in the vehicle, allegedly because he was under the influence. Turner told Corporal Simmons that he had a gun. The warrant states that the gun also came back stolen. Turner allegedly had approximately .4 grams of methamphetamine in his pocket.
Turner was arrested and charged with Theft of Property, Unlawful Carrying or Possession of a Weapon and MFG/Sale/Delivery/Possession of Meth. Turner’s bond was set at $17,000; he’ll appear in court on Nov. 4, 2019.
