New Boys’ Basketball Coach at Franklin County

Samuel Tarlton has been hired as the new head boys’ basketball coach Franklin County High School.

Tarlton had been serving as the boys coach for the Class-A North Greene High School Huskies for the last 4 years where he accomplished an impressive overall record of 107-36. His teams won three district championships, two regional championships and two state tournament appearances. The Huskies with Tarlton as coach made it to the state semifinals in 2018 and 2021. North Greene is located in Greenville, TN.

He is currently the play-by-play voice of the Coffee County Red Raiders (31 years) on The Rooster 101.5 and can be heard M-F broadcasting our local news. Lucky has done play-by-play for 3,947 (and counting) sports events on Radio & TV. He also served four years as the Public Information Officer for the Coffee Co. Sheriff's Dept. and taught Radio/TV for six years at Grundy County High School.
