A new program offered at UTC is looking to address the state’s current nursing shortage.
That program will take 3 semesters instead of 5, so students can get into the field faster.
Under the new accelerated BSN program, students with a bachelor’s degree in any field will be able to gain a nursing degree in 3 semesters throughout one year, rather than the typical 5 semester program.
Tennessee had a shortage of more than 15,000 nurses in 2021.
The program will begin this upcoming fall semester.
