In the Region 4-AAA semi-final girls game Tuesday night the Coffee County Lady Raiders hosted the Oakland Lady Patriots.
In the 1st quarter the two teams battled to an 11-11 tie, but the 2nd quarter Oakland got hot and took a 32-15 lead at halftime. In the 3rd the Lady Raiders started to chip away, but still trailed 36-24 going into the 4th. Coffee County went to work defensively in the final quarter, forcing turnovers and unsuccessful shots. The Lady Raiders cut the lead down to 3 (41-38) with only seconds remaining. Coffee County was forced to foul and Oakland’s Claira McGowan hit two free-throws and the Lady Raiders fell for only the second time this season 43-38 to finish the year at 28-2.
Outstanding Senior Bella Vinson ended her career with another solid night with 16 points to earn her the Crazy Daisies Player of the game. Chole Gannon and Alivia Reel added 8 each.
