Oakland Upsets Lady Raiders

In the Region 4-AAA semi-final girls game Tuesday night the Coffee County Lady Raiders hosted the Oakland Lady Patriots.

In the 1st quarter the two teams battled to an 11-11 tie, but the 2nd quarter Oakland got hot and took a 32-15 lead at halftime. In the 3rd the Lady Raiders started to chip away, but still trailed 36-24 going into the 4th. Coffee County went to work defensively in the final quarter, forcing turnovers and unsuccessful shots. Coffee County was forced to foul and Oakland’s Claira McGowan hit two free-throws and the Lady Raiders fell for only the second time this season 43-38 to finish the year at 28-2.
