Bedford County government is applying for a Local Parks and Recreation Fund (LPRF) grant from the Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation. If awarded, the grant will fund the installation of new signage, river stage markers, and other safety improvements along the Duck River in Bedford County.

As part of the grant application process, county officials will hold two public meetings to discuss the proposal and gather community input:

Monday, March 17, at 4 p.m. – Normandy Town Hall, Normandy

Thursday, March 27, at 10 a.m. – Historic Bedford County Courthouse, Duck River Room, Shelbyville

The Duck River, recognized as a Blueway across Tennessee, is a designated recreational stream used for paddling and outdoor activities. Bedford County's initiative aims to enhance safety and accessibility for all who enjoy the river within the county.
