Cats best Raiders, Lady Cats fall to Coffee

Senior guards Xavier Farrell and Khani Johnson led Tullahoma to a season sweep of Coffee County with a 54-45 win over the Red Raiders Tuesday night in a game you heard on 93.9 The Duck. 


The Wildcats, who improved to 15-2 on the season, outscored Coffee County 16-6 in the second quarter to open a 12 point edge at halftime and though the Red Raiders pulled within eight a couple of times in the second half Tullahoma remained in control of the contest. 


Farrell who was honored for joining the 1,000 point club at halftime of the girls game tallied a game high 26 points to earn Owens Provisions and Apparel player of the game honors. Johnson added 12 and Austin Tinnon turned in another solid performance with 8 points. Cortland Farrar paced Coffee County, who dropped to 6-8 on the season, with 11 points. 


Coffee County tames Lady Cats

In the girls contest, the visiting Lady Raiders of Coffee County seized control early, holding Tullahoma to 1 point in the opening quarter and never looking back in a 69-22 win. Isabella Lidstrom paced the Lady Cats with 8 points and was the Owens Provisions and Apparel player of the game. Olivia Vinson led Coffee County with 17 points. Channah Gannon (15), Jules Ferrell (13)  and Natalie Barnes (12) also finished in double figures. Coffee County remains unbeaten at 16-0 while Tullahoma dropped to 8-9 on the season. 


Tullahoma visits Lincoln County on Friday at 6:00. Coffee County Travels to Siegel Thursday at 6:00. The next Tullahoma basketball broadcast on 93.9 The Duck is set for January 17th when the Wildcats host Murfreesboro Central Magnet.
