Led by the senior duo of Khani Johnson and Xavier Farrell the Tullahoma Wildcats made more history Friday night as they defeated Fayette-Ware 67-58 to advance to the program’s first state championship game.
Though they led wire to wire, it wasn’t the cruise control victory it appeared it would be in the first when the Cats jumped out to a 22-9 advantage. Fayette-Ware battled back to take the second 17-10 and trim the Tullahoma lead to 6 at 32-26 at the half. The Wildcats managed to push their lead out to as much as 13 twice in the second half but every time it looked like Tullahoma could put the game away Fayette-Ware gave just enough of a push back to stay within striking distance. However, although the trimmed the margin as close as five with :54 seconds to play two made free throws from Farrell and an emphatic dunk from Johnsin, his second of the night, sealed the Tullahoma victory.

Johnson finished with a game high 23 points as well as 6 rebound and was named the Owens Provisions player of the game. Farrell 21 and 4 boards. The duo also combined to go 11-14 from the free throw line.
Austin Tinnon has a monster game on the glass snagging 12 rebounds to go along with 6 points and Jayden Thompson came off the bench to tally 8 points 7 rebounds 2 assist and a block in 18 minutes.
Tarecous Stevens led Fayette-Warre with 17 while Markylon Terry (13) and Tacarien Stevens (11) also finished in double figures.
