Changes Coming to Bedford County Recycling Centers

Bedford County Recycling Centers will be making some changes to the acceptance of recyclable materials.

PLASTIC: #1 and #2 plastic items, such as milk jugs, plastic soda bottles, and plastic jugs for cooking ingredients, will now be accepted at the El Bethel, Unionville, and Tollgate convenience centers.

NEWSPAPER: Newsprint recycling will now ONLY be available at those three centers: El Bethel, Unionville, and Tollgate.

Highway Superintendent Mark Clanton said these three centers, which are open six days a week, will be the county's full-line recycling centers. All eight centers will continue to collect cardboard and aluminum beverage cans for recycling. The changes begin Friday, August 9, 2024.

Tollgate, El Bethel, and Unionville centers are open six days a week, Monday through Saturday. The other centers are open Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Schedules are posted at the county website, https://www.bedfordcountytn.gov/community/solid_waste.php
