Cicadas will continue to be heard for a while in Southern Middle Tennessee. Dr. Karla Addesso, entomologist and Director of the TSU Nursery Research Center in McMinnville, says we’re likely to be stuck with the noise through the month of June.

These cicadas are coming from Brood 19, which is a 13-year brood last seen in 2011. Next year, Brood 14 will pay a visit to the area as the insects emerge for the first time since 2008, making them 17-year cicadas.
