Good evening Tullahoma,
With winter weather encroaching on us this weekend, we would like to share the road plans for de-icing. The map below shows roads that will be treated for winter conditions as weather moves in. On this map, the green highlighted roads are maintained by TDOT. These are the main highways in and out of town that will likely be salted. The small areas marked in red are first responder zones. These will be prioritized to accommodate police, fire, ambulance, and emergency medical service locations.
The roads marked in yellow are treated by Tullahoma Public Works to help addressing icing. Please keep in mind that even with treatment on the roads, ice may still form. The best way to stay safe is to stay home during icy conditions. If you must be on the roads however, the marked roads will be the better options for travel.
For clarification, the following list of treated roadways is what is marked on the map below:
Forrest Blvd - from Highway 55 to Wattendorf Highway at the AEDC entrance
Old Estill Springs Rd - from S Anderson St to the city limit
E Lincoln St - from NE Atlantic St to Cobb Rd
Hogan St - from N Jackson St to Country Club Dr
N Washington St - from W Hogan St to N Jackson St
Ovoca Rd - from Kings Ln to Hickory Hills Blvd
Kings Ln - from N Washington to Country Club Dr
Country Club Dr/Short Springs Rd - from E Hogan St to Carter Blake Rd

Hermitage Dr - from Turkey Creek Rd to Westside Dr/Hwy 130
Cedar Ln - from W Lincoln St to N Jackson St
Westside Dr - from W Lincoln St to city limit
W Grundy St - from N Jackson St to Cedar Ln
Again, if you are able to stay home in icy conditions, please do, and remember that ice may still form even when roads are treated. Tullahoma Public Works will be monitoring conditions alongside the City of Tullahoma Administration, Police, and Fire for safety. As always, be cautious, keep warm, and stay safe!
PS: Garbage and recycling services are planned to run as normal during this time. Should that change, we will make an additional announcement if necessary. Public Works notes that some usual pickup times may vary on service days during weather events, so please have garbage carts at the corner by 6am for service pick-up on your regular scheduled day. Thank you!
