Coffee County Lady Raiders Surge Past Franklin County in a Dominant 53-42 Victory

Three Lady Raiders scored in double figures as the Coffee County Girls basketball team leveraged a balanced effort to topple a tenacious Franklin County squad 53-42 at Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gymnasium Tuesday evening and advance to a flawless 5-0 record.


The Coffee County Lady Raiders wasted no time asserting their dominance on the hardwood Tuesday night, jumping out to an early 19-15 lead over the Franklin County Rebelettes by the end of the first quarter. Their fast start set the tone early in the game with a four-point lead.


The Lady Raiders found their groove in the second quarter and hit their mark. Their offense flowed effortlessly while their defense stood tall, holding Franklin County in check. By halftime, Coffee County had stretched their advantage to 11 points, heading into the locker room with a commanding 37-26 lead.


Franklin County wasn't ready to bow out, pushing back hard in the third quarter, but the Lady Raiders stood their ground. Coffee County maintained control with clutch shooting and strategic ball movement, closing the third quarter with a 46-39 lead.


As the fourth quarter began, the Lady Raiders shut the door on the Rebelettes. With their defense locking down Franklin County's key scorers and their offense firing on all cylinders, Coffee County surged ahead with a convincing 53-42 victory, securing another impressive win for the Lady Raiders.


Olivia Vinson lit up the scoreboard for the Lady Raiders, leading the charge with 17 points. She showcased her sharpshooting by draining three triples. She delivered a perfect four-for-four performance at the free throw line, earning the Dr. James Van Winkle Player of the Game honors.


Senior standout Channah Gannon added to the offensive firepower with 14 points. At the same time, Jules Ferrell came through in critical moments, contributing 10 pivotal points. Coffee County will return to action on Friday, Dec. 6, as they host Tullahoma, with the girl's game tipping off at 6 P.M. and the boy's contest to follow at 7:30 P.M.
