Coffee County Red Raiders Overcome Slow Start to Dominate Franklin County

Brady Wright and Courtland Farrar each scored nine points as the Coffee County boy's basketball team pulled away from Franklin County 49-25 on Tuesday night at Joe Frank Patch Memorial Gymnasium.


Franklin County took control early, ending the first quarter with a narrow 9-6 lead. But the Red Raiders found their rhythm in the second quarter, erupting for 18 points and locking down defensively to hold the Rebels scoreless. By halftime, Coffee County had flipped the script, charging into the locker room with a commanding 24-9 lead.


The momentum only grew in the third quarter, as the Red Raiders pulled away with a 23-point advantage, ending the quarter ahead 40-17. Coffee County kept the pressure on in the fourth, adding nine more points to seal the decisive 49-25 victory.


Cortland Farrar came through in the clutch, scoring nine points in key moments to earn the Dr. James Van Winkle Player of the Game honors. Brady Wright also netted nine points, while Caiden Warren and Jayden Carter contributed seven apiece in the Red Raiders' balanced offensive attack. Coffee County will return to action on Friday, Dec. 6, as they host Tullahoma, with the girl's game tipping off at 6 P.M. and the boy's contest to follow at 7:30 P.M.
